This post is inspired by two experiences: (1) a conversation i had with a dope turntablist named DJ Tapedeck Tunn who had me reminiscing about the “good ol’ days” of all-vinyl DJing and dope local hip hop (i had to tell stories about my hip hop heroes); and (2) a recent Redbull Music Academy session, which featured Rich Medina interviewing 9th Wonder and Phonté. Between these two recent experiences, i’ve been missing my 757-804 peoples; but more than that, i’ve inspired by them as well as those reppin’ the 919.
